CITIC researcher Adriana Dapena participated in the round table “Book Intelligences. Literature and AI, dilemmas, problems, and proposals,” accompanied by popularizer Javier Pedreira (Wicho) and writer Fran Fernández Dávila.

During the session, organized and presented by Estíbaliz Espinosa as part of the A Coruña Book Fair, various topics related to creativity and the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the literary field were addressed. The participants examined the role of human experience and consciousness in the production of original works, discussing how AI could redefine originality in literature and art.

Additionally, its potential to overcome cognitive biases in literary creation was explored, and ethical questions about its use were raised. Thus, the discussion focused on whether AI can lead a revolution in literature and evaluated its ability to emulate human characteristics such as sarcasm, depression, and deep creativity.

As part of the event, attendees enjoyed an interactive activity comparing and distinguishing verses by poet Álvaro Cunqueiro and verses automatically generated by AI.
