
Amparo Alonso analyzes the future of artificial intelligence at MEET_IA.
The CITIC researcher from UDC, Amparo Alonso, participated in the 1st Edition of MEET_IA: Artificial Intelligence, the Future, an event organized by the Circle of Entrepreneurs of Galicia in collaboration with Abanca and R.
This event, designed to explore the impact of artificial intelligence in the business field, brought together experts and leaders from various sectors to share use cases, discuss emerging trends, and debunk myths about this disruptive technology.
Amparo Alonso participated in the “Future Trends” panel, where she addressed the frontiers of artificial intelligence and its transformative potential in society and the economy. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of integrating ethics into the development of these emerging technologies, as well as the role of collaboration between academic research and the business sector to maximize their positive impact. She also emphasized the need to avoid biases in artificial intelligence models, a crucial issue to ensure these systems are fair and equitable. Additionally, she stressed the importance of developing AI models that do not need to be continuously retrained and advocated for the promotion of green algorithms that reduce the environmental impact of AI without compromising its effectiveness.
The event, which included panels on real use cases, debates on myths and realities of AI, and an initial conversation led by RosalIA, the host AI, offered attendees a practical and inspiring vision of the present and future of artificial intelligence in business.
