
An educational innovation project in computer science from CITIC receives two awards and one nomination at JENUI 2025
A team of researchers from CITIC at UDC, composed of Adriana Dapena, Paula Castro, Óscar Fresnedo, and Lucas Alonso, has been honored with two awards and one nomination at the XXXI Conference on University Teaching in Computer Science (JENUI 2025), held in Valladolid.
Their work, focused on educational innovation and research applied to university-level computer science teaching, has been recognized with the Award from the Women in Computing Commission of the Scientific Computing Society of Spain (SCIE). This award distinguishes the best study addressing the gender perspective in the field of computer science. This recognition highlights the team’s efforts to promote more inclusive, equitable, and diversity-sensitive education.
Furthermore, the project received the Award from the General Council of Official Colleges of Computer Engineering, which recognizes the best work related to ethics and professional practice in computer engineering presented at JENUI 2025. This distinction underlines the study’s relevance in training future professionals with ethical awareness and social responsibility.
Additionally, the work was nominated for Best Paper of the conference, a mention that emphasizes its academic excellence, originality, and significant contribution to advancing computer science education at the university level.
