The proposal of provisional resolution of the procedure for granting aid 2022 to “Proyectos de Generación de Conocimiento” and actions for the training of predoctoral research personnel associated with these projects has been made public. This call is part of the “Programa Estatal para Impulsar la Investigación Científico – Técnica y su Transferencia”, within the “Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2021-2023”.

The objective is to finance research projects focused on promoting the generation and significant progress of scientific knowledge and research of proven quality, in addition to promoting the search for solutions to the challenges of society.

Eight projects have been accepted from CITIC to apply for these grants, which total more than one million three hundred thousand euros granted for their development. The duration of funding for each project will be from 3 to 4 years, depending on the case.

In the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI), projects were presented by Álvaro Barreiro García and Javier Parapar López, José Luis Calvo Rollle and Héctor Quintián Pardo, David Vilares Calvo and finally Margarita Alonso Ramos. In the area of Data Science and Engineering (CID) were Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Luaces and Susana Ladra González on one side, and Carlos Vázquez Cendón on the other. In High Performance Computing (HPC) Juan Touriño Domínguez and Gabriel Rodríguez Álvarez presented together, and in Intelligent Services and Networks (SRI) Luís Castedo Rivas and José A. García Naya.
