On Friday, October 20 took place the inauguration of the ICT City with the opening of the building of the Advanced Services Center (CSA). This project, together with the election of Coruña as the headquarters of the State Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA) will make the city a reference in the technological field, serving as a meeting point between companies and the University of A Coruña (UDC).
The Advanced Services Center (CSA) will be the first building to come into operation in the ICT City. This space will be dedicated to prototypes, demonstrations and project launches, as well as meetings between companies in the sector. It will involve the fitting out of 2,600 m2 that will be available for the accommodation of ICT companies.
The inauguration began at 9:30 a.m. with a free visit to the facilities, followed an hour later by a guided tour for the various invited authorities. Afterwards, a speech was given by the cluster president Antonio Rodríguez del Corral, the rector Julio Abalde, the president of the Provincial Council Valentín González Formoso, the mayoress Inés Rey, the government delegate Pedro Blanco and the president of the Xunta de Galicia Alfonso Rueda.
The event ended with a day on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data that included a talk moderated by Rodríguez del Corral with Denodo executives Alberto Plan and Daniel Lende; a presentation on new training strategies for the ICT sector by Zeltia Lado, General Director of Training and Placement of the Xunta; and three interventions by David Pereira, data and intelligence leader at NTT Data for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Ravin Dhalani, from MasMovil, and Chema Alonso, from Telefónica.
