CITIC shares science and technology with the public at G-Night
The Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) at the University of A Coruña took part last Friday in the Galician Researchers’ Night – G-Night, an event that filled the city with activities aimed at bringing science closer to society.
The day began with a visit to CITIC by a group of students from Colegio de Fomento Montespiño, who had the opportunity to explore first-hand some of the center’s projects in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and robotics.
Throughout the day, CITIC was also present at various G-Night venues with interactive workshops, including: “Caring for the Knees: Osteoarthritis, Mobility, and New Technologies”, held at Dársena de la Marina,“Explore Science and Technology!”, hosted at MUNCYT, and “Intelligent Robotics Workshop”, organized at the CITENI Robotics Lab.
The program also featured a series of talks by researchers affiliated with CITIC. At Dársena de la Marina, Paloma Piot delivered a presentation titled “Combating Disinformation and Abusive Language with Human and Artificial Intelligence.” Meanwhile, at Árnica Bar, Brais Muñiz Castro explained how artificial intelligence can be applied to the development of personalized medicines, and Patricia Faraldo Cabana, from the Faculty of Law, discussed the legal challenges of historical heritage trafficking in Spain.
