  • Javier Garrido, head of Transfer at the center, welcomes a group of entrepreneurs in collaboration with the Network of Centers.

The Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) received a group of entrepreneurs on Tuesday, September 17, in a meeting promoted by the Network of Centers and R&D Units of the UDC (REDCIDI). The meeting, led by Javier Garrido, head of Transfer at CITIC, aims to explore ways in which CITIC can support and collaborate with these entrepreneurs in the development of their technological and business projects.

During the day, in addition to the working meeting, the entrepreneurs visited the CITIC facilities, where they were able to see firsthand the technological infrastructure and available resources that can drive the growth of their business ideas.

Also attending the working meeting were Lorena Alonso Alconada and Diego Cabaleiro Martínez, representing the Office of Transfer of Research Results (OTRI), and Emilio Corral, a member of REDCIDI, who highlighted the importance of cooperation between institutions and entrepreneurs to promote innovation and economic development.

Among the projects presented by the entrepreneurs, innovative initiatives in various fields such as education, health, AI, or care for the elderly stand out. A platform for English training aimed at professionals, a project of interactive magical stories, a system for provisioning goods for ships, the design of a mobile application to address cognitive decline through ethnobotany, or a platform to create interactive T-shirts are some of the initiatives presented.

These projects are part of the NodeHub program of the Startups.st accelerator, which seeks to promote business ideas with a high technological and digital component. CITIC, as a reference in research and development in the ICT field, positions itself as a strategic partner for these entrepreneurs, offering them its expertise in research, development, and technological innovation.

This meeting represents an important step to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and enhance the transfer of knowledge and technology between the academic and business fields.
