CITIC received this morning the visit of 24 students of 1st and 2nd of high school from IES Ramón Menéndez Pidal – Zalaeta, which this year participates again in the fourth edition of Talentos Inclusivos.

After a brief presentation of the lines of activity of CITIC, the students were able to visit the Technology Demonstrator where robotics projects were presented, such as Robobo, designed entirely by CITIC research staff, or NAO, a robot that has various mechanisms and sensors to perform all kinds of movements and tasks.

Later, in the 3D printing laboratory, the operation of the plastic extrusion, resin and powder fusion printers was explained.

The visit ended in the Virtual Reality and Localization laboratory where, among others, a virtual supermarket was shown. In this scenario, participants were able to shop for products from a list or select the right ingredients to prepare a cooking recipe. 

During the meeting, the opinions of the attendees were collected, which will allow to know the students’ interest in STEM professions.
