The Information and Communication Technologies Research Center at the University of A Coruña concluded its “International Project Week (WIPO Week)” this Friday. This initiative brought together 19 participants from 8 European countries, representing a wide range of sectors, for a series of activities designed to promote collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of international research projects.

Participants from research centers, universities, foundations, tech companies, spin-offs, and specialized consulting firms worked together over the past five days to identify synergies and cooperation opportunities within European projects.

The week began with individual presentations and a tour of CITIC’s facilities, followed by collaborative activities in informal settings, such as a “walk and talk” around the city of A Coruña, fostering connections among participants. There was also a workshop on synergy analysis and opportunity identification using the innovative “Lego Serious Play” methodology, where attendees explored new forms of interdisciplinary collaboration. They also had the chance to visit other research centers at the University of A Coruña, including CITENI, CICA, and CITEEC.

The International Project Week also featured an “Info Day” focused on participation in the 2025 calls for the Horizon Europe program. Organized by CITIC in collaboration with the UDC’s Research Recruitment Office (OCPI) and the CITIC Foundation, this event took place on Thursday, October 24, and included workshops and talks led by an expert in European projects. Key clusters within Horizon Europe’s Pillar II, covering essential areas such as health, civil security, climate, and energy, were reviewed during the session.

The International Projects Week reflects CITIC’s commitment to impactful knowledge transfer and global scientific collaboration, providing a unique space for researchers, managers, and companies to share experiences, establish contacts, and develop joint projects within the framework of Horizon Europe and other international initiatives.
