The European project RePo-SUDOE, which includes the participation of scientists from CITIC, is launching its series of online seminars with a first session dedicated to innovative strategies for drug repurposing through the analysis of biological patterns and molecular pathways. The free, online event will take place on May 7 at 11:00 a.m. (CEST).
The session will be led by Belén Otero Carrasco, a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), who will share her experience in using systems biology and computational analysis approaches. Her work explores how to identify functional patterns in key molecular pathways, enabling the discovery of new therapeutic uses for existing drugs.
This approach not only opens new avenues in biomedical research but also contributes to making drug development more efficient, sustainable, and affordable—thus accelerating its impact on public health.
The webinar is part of a series of events organized by RePo-SUDOE, a project aimed at fostering collaborative research in Southwestern Europe and promoting high-impact scientific solutions to current health challenges.
