Researchers from CITIC and ANFAIA will present the "Future of Artificial Intelligence" on January 28th
Next Tuesday, January 28, the Faculty of Computer Science at the University of A Coruña (UDC) will host the “Future of Artificial Intelligence” event, organized by the RNASA-IMEDIR and LIDIA research groups of CITIC, in collaboration with the National Association Faro for the Acceleration of Artificial Intelligence (ANFAIA). This event will be held in person in the Aula de Grados of the Faculty of Computer Science at UDC, with an online option available via Teams, and the recording will be accessible later on the RNASA-IMEDIR research group’s website.
The event will focus on advances in artificial intelligence and quantum computing, two highly current and potentially disruptive areas. Discussions will cover advancements in these fields, their possible applications, and how AI can influence quantum computing. As CITIC researcher Alejandro Pazos points out, AI and quantum computing are the emerging technologies of the moment, although their real impact on daily life and societal development is yet to be demonstrated.
The program will begin with a presentation by ANFAIA and its initiative for open-source artificial intelligence project scholarships, led by Ismael Faro, founder of ANFAIA and Vice President of Quantum and AI at IBM Research. Following this, there will be a round table titled “AI and its Impact on Quantum Computing, and Vice Versa: What’s Cooking?”, moderated by Alejandro Pazos, CITIC researcher and professor of Computer Science and AI at UDC. This round table will feature researchers Vicente Moret Bonillo and Eduardo Mosqueira Rey, who will share their insights on the future prospects of AI and quantum computing.
Registration is free but with limited capacity. Those interested in participating should register by sending an email to sofia.paz@udc.es. An official certificate of attendance will be provided.
