This Tuesday, November 28th, at 10:00 a.m., the sixteenth TIC Talk Breakfast was held in the CITIC Cloud Room. CITIC researcher Miguel Anxo Pérez Vila opened the session with the presentation “Semantic Similarity Models for Depression Severity Estimation.”
Secondly, Pablo Gutiérrez-Asorey taught “Compact Data Structures and Indoor Trajectories”. He gave an introduction to the concept of Compact Data Structures, compressed representations of information with self-indexing capabilities that allow compressed data to be directly queried without having to go through a traditional decompression process. The usefulness of this branch of research was tested by exploring the construction of a Compact Data Structure for indoor trajectories. Specifically, trajectories in a rest home. This structure was part of the development of a doctoral thesis in progress focused on Compact Data Structures for mobility problems.
The TIC Talk breakfasts are held monthly at the CITIC to bring together the center’s research staff. Thus, they can publicize their work and promote communication between participants and the audience.
