The Faculty of Computer Science at UDC will host the Spanish Computer Science Olympiad 2025

  • It is a computer programming competition where students from Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, and Middle Grade from all over Spain compete.
  • The University of A Coruña takes over from the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering at the University of Seville, where the XXVIII edition of the event was held last weekend with the participation of two Galicians.

The Spanish Computer Science Olympiad 2025 will be held next year at the Faculty of Computer Science of the University of A Coruña (FIC) as announced this weekend during the XXVIII edition of this competition, in which students from Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, and Middle Grade from all over the country compete. In this regard, the president of the General Council of Professional Associations of Computer Engineering (CCII) and the Professional Association of Computer Engineering of Galicia, Fernando Suárez, stated that “it is an honor to welcome to A Coruña the talent that will shape the future of innovation and progress in our country. In the Olympiad, boys and girls come together and collaborate to achieve excellence in solving computational thinking problems.”

A total of 40 finalists classified in the Olympiads of their respective autonomous communities participated in the 2024 edition, in which two Galicians, Hugo Domínguez (from IES Saturnino Montojo de Ferrol) and Hugo Rey (from CPR Manuel Peleteiro), received a diploma for their participation.
