The students from the Calasancias school in A Coruña visit CITIC of UDC thanks to the program "Atrévete a pescudar con elas!"
This week, the center received visits from students of the Senior University of UDC and two groups from CPR Plurilingüe Calasancias, A Coruña.
The ICT Research Center received two visits this week as part of its commitment to transmitting scientific knowledge to the public. On Monday the 3rd, a group of seven students from the Senior University of UDC visited CITIC in an activity promoted by research staff María Betania Groba, Laura Nieto Riveiro, and Manuel Lagos. The tour began at the Technological Demonstrator, where they could try augmented reality glasses and meet NAO, the humanoid robot. After this, they moved on to the exhibition on the history of video games that the center is preparing. In the Robotics Laboratory, they saw the operation of the Unitree robot dog.

This Thursday, it was the turn of a group of 36 students and teachers from CPR Plurilingüe Calasancias (A Coruña), who had the opportunity to visit the center’s facilities such as the Technological Demonstrator room, the Robotics Room, and the Virtual Reality and Localization Room. The students could see and try robotic, virtual reality, and augmented reality developments.
This visit is part of the program Atrévete a pescudar con elas! of UDC, which gave students the opportunity to visit, in addition to CITIC, two other technological centers of the University of A Coruña: CICA (Center for Advanced Scientific Research) and CITEEC (Center for Technological Innovation in Building and Civil Engineering).
At CICA, different workshops were offered to showcase the research topics carried out in their facilities, while at CITEEC, students visited the facilities and laboratories related to the field of engineering.
“Atrévete a pescudar con elas!” is an initiative of the Scientific and Cultural Dissemination Unit of UDC, in which UDC researchers showcase their scientific and life trajectories, professional achievements, and anecdotes to encourage curiosity about the research and scientific profession.
