- The working team, made up of 10 public and private entities from Ireland, Portugal, France, and Spain, seeks a model that serves as an instrument for the transition towards clean energy and the decarbonization of the territory.
Ferrol, November 26, 2024.- The Industrial Campus of Ferrol of the University of A Coruña hosts, this Tuesday, November 26 and Wednesday, November 27, one of the face-to-face working meetings of the European Project on Sustainable Energy Communities of the Atlantic (SAtComm) in which the University of A Coruña participates, through the Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC), under the leadership of researchers from the Cybernetic Science and Technology group (CTC), José Luis Calvo Rolle and Héctor Quintián Pardo.
In this second face-to-face working meeting, the first of which took place in June in Lisbon, they will continue working on defining an efficient and sustainable model for the implementation of these Sustainable Energy Communities (SECs) in the European continent. They seek a model that serves as an instrument for the transition towards clean energy and the decarbonization of the territory.
The proposal of the CITIC of the University of A Coruña aims to model all the elements of the Sustainable Energy Communities using historical data, user profiles, or the types of loads that need to be supplied. In this way, the aim is to identify and analyze possible errors or existing anomalies, anticipating problems and improving decision-making, thus ensuring optimal operation throughout its operation.
This European Territorial Cooperation Project, better known as Interreg, on the Sustainable Energy Communities of the Atlantic (SAtComm) has a budget of 3.2 million euros. The University of A Coruña has more than 400,000 euros to carry out its part. The working team is made up of 10 public and private entities from Ireland, Portugal, France, and Spain.
