The Centre for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) at the University of A Coruña will participate this Sunday in the Open Science event in Cambre, showcasing a range of activities focused on technological accessibility.

Throughout the morning, innovative initiatives will be presented, highlighting technology as a tool for inclusion. Researcher Jerónimo José Pardo Rodríguez will lead interactive games using virtual reality to support the development of cognitive skills in people with intellectual disabilities.

Meanwhile, Paula de Santos Dorrego will run the Switch Mario Kart activity, featuring adapted controls operated through trunk or head movement. In addition, Jorge Rivadulla Brey will present Compra con-migo, a series of customised games designed for people with disabilities.

Finally, Javier Pereira Loureiro and Irene Brage Vázquez will offer a demonstration of painting with a head-controlled assistive device, along with a showcase of technological challenges from the Talentos Inclusivos programme — including a pictogram board created with 3D printing.

Through this participation, CITIC strengthens its commitment to developing technological solutions that foster inclusion and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.
