University and business, hand in hand at the Internship and Employment Fair of FIC (FePEfic)
- CITIC of UDC will guide students at its stand through practical information on integration into the labor field and main projects of companies in the ICT sector.
On April 23, 24, and 25, the Internship and Employment Fair (FePEfic) will be held at the Faculty of Computer Science (FIC) of UDC. This event is organized by FIC of the University of A Coruña, with the collaboration of its Foundation and CITIC. It is aimed at ICT sector companies and undergraduate and master’s students of FIC interested in internships in companies or entering the labor market. The IX Award for the best applied final degree project of FIC will close these days, in which 26 ICT companies are participating this year.
Bridge between business and university
The goal is to align students’ expectations with some of the main technology firms in the area. Attending students will have the opportunity to learn firsthand about some of the projects and initiatives being developed in the business ecosystem, as well as express their concerns about integrating into the labor market through professional internships.
Manuel G. Penedo, director of CITIC, values these initiatives very positively, as they aim to “build bridges between the academic and business fields and provide students with the main keys to help them make the leap into the labor market.” For the fair’s collaborators, these types of meetings are necessary because “they connect the expectations and needs of the two fundamental parts of the ICT sector’s value chain”.
