
Alejandro Pazos takes part in a national conference on Precision Personalized Medicine at the Congress of Deputies
A Coruña, May 7, 2025. The researcher at CITIC, University of A Coruña, Alejandro Pazos took part in the conference “Precision Personalized Medicine: Dialogue Between Politicians and Scientists”, held this week in the Sagasta Room of the Congress of Deputies in Madrid and organized by the Roche Institute Foundation. The event brought together prominent figures from the scientific and political spheres with the aim of promoting a national strategy to ensure the equitable and efficient implementation of Precision Personalized Medicine within the Spanish healthcare system.
The conference addressed critical issues such as the interoperability of information systems, interterritorial coordination, equitable access to innovation, and the continuous training of healthcare professionals. In this context, the importance of having professionals specialized in medical informatics and data science was highlighted—fields in which CITIC is deeply engaged in research.
The event concluded with broad consensus among parliamentary representatives on the need for a shared roadmap to ensure the implementation of precision personalized medicine across all autonomous communities and to position Spain at the forefront of healthcare innovation.
