ASPACE Coruña, CITIC of the Universidade da Coruña and the Xunta participate in the awareness day at IES Ramón Menéndez Pidal-Zalaeta
This Tuesday, the awareness day of Talentos Inclusivos took place at IES Ramón Menéndez Pidal-Zalaeta, which included the participation of representatives from ASPACE Coruña, the Director General of Educational Planning and Innovation, Judith Fernández Novoa, the Director of the Research Center in Information and Communication Technologies of the Universidade da Coruña (CITIC), Manuel G. Penedo, and more than 30 4th-year ESO students from the school.
During the session, Fernández Novoa highlighted that “Talentos Inclusivos is a program they are very satisfied with and will continue to promote in the coming years from the Ministry of Culture, Education and University”. Regarding the collaborative work groups, she pointed out that “it is an initiative that allows students to have practical teaching. They are able to find a solution to a problem that allows them to see the importance of the small things that solve the lives of many people”.
During the day, Chon, Dani Ripoll, and Toni, users of ASPACE Coruña, explained to the attendees what Talentos Inclusivos consists of, an initiative that seeks to awaken technological vocations among pre-university students (secondary, high school, and vocational training) in a practical way, working on technological projects through cooperative groups with people with disabilities, specifically people with cerebral palsy.
As part of the event, the students took the opportunity to convey their concerns and questions to the users of ASPACE Coruña and made a first approach to the challenges they are launching in this edition, such as the design of a nozzle for painting or different developments in 3D printing.
The awareness days are part of the activities scheduled in the new edition of Talentos Inclusivos, which aim to bring the reality of people with cerebral palsy closer to the students. To this end, different sessions are scheduled in educational centers where users of ASPACE Coruña, Amencer-ASPACE, and APAMP share firsthand the challenges they face every day.
