The Centre for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) at the University of A Coruña (UDC) hosted this Thursday, July 17th, the closing session of the third edition of AddVenture, the university entrepreneurship and innovation program spearheaded by the Social Councils of UDC and the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC).

Following three months of intensive training and collaborative work, participating students showcased their projects before a panel of experts and had the opportunity to engage with professionals from the Galician entrepreneurial ecosystem in a networking space specifically designed to foster collaboration and knowledge transfer.

The event’s opening featured remarks from CITIC Director, Manuel G. Penedo, who emphasized the relevance of initiatives like AddVenture in strengthening ties between the university, young talent, and the productive sector.

A highlight of the event was the keynote address by Gala Freixa, co-founder of Sheedo and an international benchmark in applying sustainability to marketing, who shared her entrepreneurial journey with attendees.

The official closing ceremony included the participation of various university authorities and representatives from the Social Councils, both in-person and virtually, as some participants are currently developing their projects outside of Galicia. Speakers included Antonio Abril Abadín, President of the UDC Social Council; María José Lombardía Coriña, Vice-Rector for Students and Employability at UDC; Jesús Spósito Prado, Secretary of the UDC Social Council; and Marta Villamayor Vázquez, Secretary of the USC Social Council.

The diploma presentation marked the conclusion of a session that highlighted AddVenture‘s ongoing commitment to promoting university talent, driving innovative ideas, and building tangible bridges between academic training and the professional world.
