CITIC Hosts the Presentation of the AddVenture Program by UDC and USC to Promote Entrepreneurship

12/03/2025 - CITIC
  • AddVenture, launched in 2021 by the Social Council of UDC, now has the support of USC to expand its impact and reach more individuals looking to give a real boost to their business ideas.
  • Since its inception, the program has trained more than 50 entrepreneurs and supported over 20 projects.

Today, CITIC of UDC hosted the presentation of the third edition of AddVenture, an entrepreneurship and innovation program promoted by the Social Councils of the Universidade da Coruña and the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. The event took place during the business breakfast “Innovation in the Real Estate Sector: PhotoIlike’s Commitment to AI and Entrepreneurship”.

The event brought together representatives from the vice-rectorates of both universities, knowledge transfer officers, research centers, and members of the Galician entrepreneurial ecosystem, aiming to strengthen the connection between academia, business, and innovation. Speakers at the event included Antonio Abril Abadín, President of the Social Council of UDC; Cecilia Sierra Rey, President of the Social Council of USC; Irati Lekue, Director of Innovation and Corporate Entrepreneurship Processes at TeamLabs; and Juan Jesús Romero Cardalda, Co-founder and Head of Research at PhotoIlike, who is also a researcher at CITIC.

This marks the first time that the Social Councils of both universities have joined forces in this initiative to expand its reach and reinforce their commitment to practical training for graduates, postgraduates, and professionals seeking to take their business ideas to the next level.

Since 2021, AddVenture has trained more than 50 entrepreneurs and supported over 20 projects, establishing itself as a leading entrepreneurship training program in Galicia.

Registration Now Open

This entrepreneurship and innovation program is free of charge and is funded and certified by the Social Councils of UDC and USC.

It is designed for university graduates, postgraduates, micro-enterprises, and professionals who want to launch or grow their businesses with a practical and strategic approach. The program lasts three months and includes 265 hours of training through live online sessions and occasional in-person events (such as a hackathon and closing session) to enhance learning and interaction with experts.

The program is a hands-on course directly applicable to participants’ own projects, using the methodology of the official university degree LEINN – Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation, delivered by TeamLabs, the learning lab of Mondragon Unibertsitatea. AddVenture combines training, mentorship, and networking, enabling participants to validate their ideas, refine their strategies, and develop leadership, sales, and digital skills.

Registrations are open until March 28. A total of 30 spots are available. Candidates will be selected after an interview with the selection committee, which will assess academic and professional backgrounds, as well as the candidate’s academic record.
