PRESENTATION
The CITIC is a Research Center established in 2008 to promote the advancement and excellence in R&D&I applied to ICT. Driven by the Universidade da Coruña, CITIC serves as a meeting point between the University and the business sector, where R&D departments of ICT companies converge with researchers from the academic field.
In 2016, CITIC received the distinction of Singular Research Center of Galicia for the period 2016-2019. In 2019, it renewed this accreditation and was named Research Center of the University System of Galicia for the period 2019-2022. In 2024, the Xunta de Galicia, through the Regional Council of Education, Science, Universities, and Professional Training, accredited CITIC as a Center of Excellence and recognized it as a Member of the CIGUS Network for the period 2024-2027 (see more).
OBJECTIVES
Promote progress and excellence in research, development and innovation in ICT.
Consolidation of advanced and excellent scientific knowledge in the Technological Areas of the Center.
Encourage technology transfer to society and the market.
Enlarge the international scope of research activity.
Stimulate the employment-generating capacity of the ICT sector.
