The CITIC received this morning the students of the Web Applications Development cycle of Afundación.
The deputy director of the center, Javier Pereira, began the visit by explaining the lines of research carried out at CITIC, as well as the profile of the research staff belonging to the center.
In the Technology Demonstrator, the students were able to try the augmented reality glasses; the Robobo, designed entirely by CITIC research staff, and the NAO robot. The visit continued in the 3D printing laboratory, where the researcher Manuel Lagos explained the characteristics and functionalities of the different printers in the center.
Once in the Virtual Reality Room, the participants tried out the virtual supermarket, a project developed to promote the rehabilitation of people with disabilities through the use of scenarios that allow them to carry out various activities of daily life. They also learned how the OptiTrack system works.
