Students from Colexio Jaime Balmes de Noia visit CITIC
The 4th ESO students of the Colexio Jaime Balmes de Noia visited this morning the Center for Research in Information Technology and Communications (CITIC) of the UDC.
The visit was organized in two groups, 18 and 19 students, who visited the center and the Faculty of Informatics of the University of A Coruña.
During the visit, they were able to learn about the lines of research developed at CITIC and some of its projects. In the Technology Demonstrator, several students tested the augmented reality glasses and the NAO, the programmable humanoid robot whose technology allows facial and voice recognition.
The day continued in the Virtual Reality laboratory, where they tested the virtual supermarket, developed by researcher Manuel Lagos with the aim of helping in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities.
CITIC regularly receives different educational centers to awaken technological vocations among young people and to transfer the results of its research to society.
