On Wednesday morning, students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Artificial Intelligence from the Universidade da Coruña visited CITIC.

The group began their visit at the Technological Demonstrator alongside Adriana Dapena Janeiro, a CITIC researcher, university professor, and lecturer of the AI Degree. In the room, they were able to try augmented reality and virtual reality glasses, as well as the NAO robot, a programmable humanoid with facial and voice recognition.

After the tests at the Demonstrator, the visit continued in the Virtual Reality laboratory, where they learned about the OptiTrack system. This system captures and records the movements of a person or object on the X, Y, and Z axes by tracking markers. The center has eight calibrated motion capture cameras.

Later, the volunteers tried the virtual supermarket developed by researcher Manuel Lagos with the aim of assisting in the rehabilitation of people with disabilities.
