Talk on Sustainable Artificial Intelligence at CITIC, as part of the INDITEX-UDC cChair on Green Algorithms
A Coruña, November 14 .- Next Thursday, November 21, CITIC at the University of A Coruña will host a lecture titled “Towards Environmentally Sustainable Artificial Intelligence,” organized within the framework of the INDITEX-UDC Chair on AI in Green Algorithms, as part of the lecture series “Green Convergence for a Sustainable Future.” The talk will take place at 15:30 in the Cloud Room at CITIC.
The lecture will address the environmental impact of artificial intelligence techniques, focusing on the significant energy consumption associated with these technologies. José Duato, CTO of Qsimov Quantum Computing and a renowned academic, will share his analysis of the current energy impact of AI systems and present the approaches and technologies already implemented to optimize energy savings. Additionally, future disruptive developments that will allow for more efficient and environmentally friendly AI will be explored.
With over 30 years as a professor at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, José Duato has authored more than 500 scientific publications and has received numerous awards, including the Rey Jaime I Prize for New Technologies and the Julio Rey Pastor National Research Award. His expertise and innovation in computing and communications make him a key voice in the discussion of sustainability in artificial intelligence.
This event is open to the public and is part of UDC and the INDITEX-UDC Chair’s efforts to promote more environmentally conscious and responsible technology.
