• The managers of the ICT centre of the UDC participated in the international meeting of the project Erasmus+ EDIGIT, celebrated in Budapest the past 5^th and 6^th of February.
• This international cooperation allows to create educational resources that promote inclusivity and equity in digital education.

A Coruña, February 9^th, 2026

The Centre for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) of the Universidade da Coruña (UDC) recently participated in the third international meeting of the project Erasmus+ EDIGIT (European Digital Inclusive Guide for Innovative Teaching), the European version of the Talentos Inclusivos Program. This initiative boosts educational inclusion through innovative digital methodologies, and the CITIC is part of the consortium by providing its experience through the aforementioned program.

The main goal of EDIGIT is promoting the participation of people with disabilities in the digital transition, encouraging inclusive approaches in the teachings of STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). To this end, the project carries out a wide catalogue of practical resources destined for teachers, educators, specialists on disabilities, ICT experts and any other person that may be interested in advancing towards a more accessible and inclusive STEM education.

The meeting, which took place the 5^th and 6^th days of February at the headquarters of the Hand in Hand Foundation, in Budapest, included the participation of Javier Pereira, vice director and main researcher of the project, and Irene Brage, project manager of the initiative. The CITIC representation also included the teachers Beatriz Méndez (IES Rego de Trabe) and Paz Freire (IES Zalaeta), whose high schools have been participating in the Talentos Inclusivos program of the CITIC for multiple iterations.

During the meet-up the participants reviewed the advances reached up to this point -the project is currently at its midpoint- and preliminary conclusions on the formative modules that each partner is carrying out were presented. At the same time, a debate occurred over the design of the modules, the self-evaluation tools and a first look at one of the key activities of the project was shared: The training of trainers. This face-to-face meeting, planned for 2027. Will mark the first real implementation of the educational materials, through sessions destined for teachers and other profiles linked to education, inclusivity and the Third Sector.

Beyond this, aspects relating to communication, dissemination and management of the project were also approached, as well as the planning of future international meetings.

The EDIGIT project, leaded by the CITIC, counts with the participation of six institutions from five European countries: Academia José Moreira da Silva (Portugal), Kezenfogva Osszefogas A Foyatekosokert Alapitvany – Hand in Hand Foundation (Hungary), Gymnázium Jiřího Gutha-Jarkovského (Czech Republic), ASPACE Coruña (Spain), Polo Europeo della Conoscenza – IC Bosco Chiesanuova (Italy) and On Projects Advising SL (Spain).

The CITIC highlighted the relevance of this internation al collaboration to create educational resources that promote inclusivity and equity inside digital education. The Talentos Inclusivos program is committed to offering high quality education that improves the digital skills of teachers and educators, and that makes STEM education accessible and inclusive for everyone.

About Talentos Inclusivos

Talentos Inclusivos is a project driven by the CITIC that takes place throughout the school year, and that counts with the support of the FECYT (Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology). Its main goal is awakening STEM vocations (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) among young people and raise awareness the reality of people with disabilities through collaborative work teams to solve technological challenges posed by people with cerebral palsy.

Through this project, students of Secondary Education and Baccalaureate Studies of multiple high schools in Galicia will have to look for technology-based solutions to a series of challenges proposed by users of the entities ASPACE Coruña, APAMP and A Coruña Red Cross.
