CITIC presents "Talentos Inclusivos" at the ATIA Conference, a leader in assistive technology for disabilities
The Deputy Director of the Research Center for Information and Communication Technologies at UDC, Javier Pereira Loureiro, recently participated in the ATIA 2025 Conference, held in Orlando, Florida, from January 30 to February 1, 2025, in both in-person and virtual formats.
The Assistive Technology Industry Association (ATIA), a leader in assistive technology, enhances the lives of people with disabilities through innovative solutions. Its annual conference brings together experts, professionals, educators, and individuals with disabilities to share knowledge and promote a more inclusive future.
In this context, Javier Pereira presented the “Talentos Inclusivos” project, developed by CITIC in collaboration with ASPACE Coruña and the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT). This initiative fosters young people’s interest in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) while raising awareness about disabilities. It creates collaborative teams that solve technological challenges proposed by individuals with cerebral palsy.
Participation in ATIA 2025 allowed CITIC to share the project’s progress with the international community, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and innovation in assistive technology. The event also facilitated the exchange of experiences and the creation of new collaborations to continue developing technological solutions that improve the lives of people with disabilities.
