Un trabajo dirigido por José Luis Calvo Rolle y Esteban Jove Pérez gana el Premio Nacional IDOM a la mejor tesis doctoral en Control Inteligente
Francisco Zayas Gato, researcher and professor at the University of A Coruña (UDC), has recently received the first IDOM National Award for Best Doctoral Thesis in Intelligent Control for his work “Implementation of assistance and recommendation algorithms for decision-making and detection of singular situations in complex systems using intelligent techniques”. The thesis was supervised by José Luis Calvo Rolle and Esteban Jove Pérez, both members of CITIC.
The award is granted by the Intelligent Control Thematic Group of the Spanish Committee of Automation (CEA), with the aim of recognizing and promoting research conducted by doctoral students in the field of Intelligent Control.
The awarded thesis focuses on the implementation of intelligent systems capable of providing assistance, which have been validated in various environments, including both medical and industrial settings. This valuable tool can make real-time recommendations to users about which decisions are most appropriate to take. Additionally, the thesis includes the design and implementation of AI-based mechanisms to detect singular situations in complex systems without prior knowledge of them—an important advantage for mitigating potential consequences at an early stage.
