
CITIC researcher Luis Castedo, new head of the ICT area at the Spanish State Research Agency
CITIC researcher Luis Castedo has been appointed president of the ICT area at the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), the public body responsible for promoting scientific and technical research across all fields of knowledge through the allocation of public resources and advising on the planning of actions through which the State’s R&D policies are implemented.
The ICT area, chaired by Luis Castedo, covers a wide range of technologies related to the development of electronic devices and systems, as well as technologies for the management and transfer of information via electromagnetic signals.
This area—one of the 19 through which the AEI carries out its activity—also encompasses research in signal processing, radiating systems, radiofrequency subsystems, and optical communications.
Luis Castedo’s experience and leadership at the head of the AEI’s ICT area will help to continue promoting excellence in research and innovation in the field of Information and Communication Technologies.
Luis Castedo has been a Full Professor of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of A Coruña (UDC) since 2001. He specializes in communications engineering, working in areas such as sensor networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), and vehicular communications.
