On Tuesday, October 31st at 10:00 a.m., CITIC resumed its TIC Talk Breakfasts after the summer break. This fifteenth session was moderated by researcher and member of the Training Committee, Álvaro Leitao.
The first presentation was delivered by María Delfina Ramos Vidal, who presented “Evolution of Software Product Lines and Digital Libraries”, in which she explained methods for reusing software products more efficiently. This approach helps reduce production costs and time-to-market, among other benefits. María Delfina Ramos is a researcher at CITIC and a predoctoral contract lecturer at UDC. She specializes in the field of Computer Languages and Systems.
The second talk was given by Giovanni Bonisoli under the title “Event Extraction from Web Data Streams”, a research project in natural language processing (NLP) focused on advances in the automatic extraction of events from crime news articles. Giovanni is a PhD student at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and he is currently on a research stay at the University of A Coruña.
The TIC Talk Breakfasts are held monthly in the CITIC Cloud Room, bringing together the center’s research staff. The aim is to showcase ongoing research and promote communication between participants and attendees.
