This morning the Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) of the University of A Coruña received the visit of representatives of Cruz Roja A Coruña to learn about the main lines of research in the field of disability and inclusion that are being carried out in the center and to study possible future ways of collaboration.

The attendees Aránzazu Jiménez de Llano, Provincial Director of Training at Cruz Roja A Coruña, Fernando Martínez and Lucía González, teachers at the Vocational Training Center of the entity, met with Javier Pereira, deputy director of CITIC and responsible for the Inclusive Talents project.

The session began at the Technology Demonstrator, a unique space where the Inclusive Talents initiative was presented, a project that aims to promote STEM vocations among secondary, baccalaureate and Vocational Training students and make visible the challenges that people with cerebral palsy face in their day-to-day lives.

Subsequently, in the 3D printing laboratory, the operation of plastic, resin and powder fusion extrusion printers was explained.  Once in the Virtual Reality room, the participants tried the virtual supermarket, a project developed to promote the rehabilitation of people with disabilities through the use of scenarios that allow the performance of various activities of daily life.
