A project led by José Luis Calvo Rolle and Esteban Jove Pérez wins the IDOM National Award for Best Doctoral Thesis in Intelligent Control

Francisco Zayas Gato, researcher and professor at the University of A Coruña (UDC), has recently received the first IDOM National Award for the Best Doctoral Thesis in Intelligent Control for his work “Implementation of assistance and recommendation algorithms for decision-making and detection of singular situations in complex systems using intelligent techniques”. The thesis was supervised by José Luis Calvo Rolle and Esteban Jove Pérez, both members of CITIC.

Researcher Sergio Prieto develops a model capable of estimating vote transfers in consecutive elections

Researcher Sergio Prieto García has developed a mathematical model for his Master’s Thesis in Statistical Techniques that could become a valuable asset for political parties during election campaigns. Under the supervision of Ricardo Cao, Professor of Statistics at the University of A Coruña (UDC), the project titled “Estimation in Contingency Tables with Given Margins” successfully developed a method to estimate the probabilities of vote transfers between political parties across two consecutive elections.

CITIC of UDC enhances its recruitment of international talent through the European project 3i-ICT

The Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) of the UDC is increasing its recruitment of international talent through the European project 3i-ICT. In the second edition of this program, whose application period has recently closed, the UDC center has received 75 applications from 56 applicants, of which 51 applications from 39 individuals were accepted.
