The final registration period to participate in the Galician Informatics Olympiad organized by the CPEIG in collaboration with the CITIC of the UDC is now open

The Olimpiada Informática Gallega 2024 (OIG 2024) opens its registration period to participate until next Thursday, January 18. The competition will consist of solving six problems, usually on the design and automation of algorithms, using C++, Python or Java.

The call is aimed at students of secondary school, high school and intermediate level training cycles. Its objective is to promote knowledge and vocations in computer science. The organization closed the pre-registration of the contest with 20 participants and has opened until the 18th the final registration, for which 16 places are still available.

The top two finishers will attend the XXVIII Olimpiada Informática Española (OIE), to be held March 15-17 in Seville. The winners will have access to the International Informatics Olympiad, to be held in September 2024 in Egypt. In addition, prizes will be awarded to the next positions in the ranking, the best female programmer and the best ESO participant.

The competition, organized by the Professional Association of Computer Engineering of Galicia (CPEIG), in collaboration with CITIC and the three Galician universities (UDC, USC and Uvigo), will take place next Saturday, February 3 at the School of Computer Engineering of Ourense with the collaboration of the Faculty of Computer Science of the UDC and the School of Engineering of the USC.
