The Vice-Rector for Science Policy, Research and Transfer of the University of A Coruña, Salvador Naya Fernández, and the director of the CITIC, Manuel F. González Penedo, have just received at the CITIC headquarters the director of the Galician Supercomputing Technology Center (CESGA) and the new general manager of the Quantum Center of Fujitsu, Almudena Justo Martínez.

The objective of the meeting, in addition to meeting the new director of the center, was to explore new ways of joint collaboration between the UDC and both centers in the field of research in quantum computing technologies.

The creation of the Quantum Center is the result of a collaboration agreement between the multinational technology company Fujitsu and CESGA with the aim of collaborating with Galician universities to promote research in quantum computing technologies and promote the development of the quantum industry at regional and international level. This will contribute to the creation of jobs and the attraction of talent, ensuring future investments in the region.

The organization of a conference for researchers in this discipline, to be held at CITIC, is planned for the near future.
