Amparo Alonso, CITIC researcher and professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the UDC, officially joined the Real Academia de Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales (RAC) this past March 6th.
This is a project focused on monitoring and controlling the thermal/mineromedicinal water of spas and predicting contaminants, based on the real-time digitization of fundamental parameters of mineromedicinal water and continuous analysis of these data by an AI-based system.
Thais Pousada participates in the project “Design2Freedom: promoting Person-Centered Design for people with disability in higher education”, led by the Confederación Española de Personas con Discapacidad Física y Orgánica (COCEMFE).
On March 14th, as part of the TalentoCibeR event, the third edition of the CITIC Cyber Competition (C3TF) will take place, a competition designed for students to test their cybersecurity skills.
The Faculty of Computer Science of the UDC hosts the event, which is sponsored by the Research Center in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) of the UDC.

On Friday, October 20 took place the inauguration of the ICT City with the opening of the building of the Advanced Services Center (CSA). This project, together with the election of Coruña as the headquarters of the State Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA) will make the city a reference in the technological field, serving as a meeting point between companies and the University of A Coruña (UDC).
In this edition, the festival will feature an opening ceremony that will take place on the evening of Friday, November 3 at the CSA of the ICT City. On the morning of Saturday 4, at the same venue, the “AI & Creation Day” congress will be held with a program of talks and academic round tables on music generated with artificial intelligence and intellectual property rights. Finally, at night the main gala will take place at Studio Follow (Polígono de A Grela).
The CITIC Database Laboratory of the Universidade da Coruña organized the sixteenth edition of the International Conference on Similarity Search and Applications (SISAP), which took place in A Coruña on October 9, 10 and 11. The event attracted attendees from 17 countries, making it a unique opportunity for the exchange of ideas and international collaborations in the area of similarity data management.
