ADADECO visits CITIC

Last Wednesday, November 22nd, the Asociación de Daño Cerebral de A Coruña (ADADECO) visited the Technology Demonstrator and the Virtual Reality and Localization Laboratory of CITIC. During the journey, several users, health professionals and occupational therapy students tested the new virtual reality (VR) developments created by researchers at the center.

Adriana Dapena, first prize in Attention to Diversity at the III Teaching Innovation Awards of the UDC

The University of A Coruña recognized the work of ten teachers whose projects combine learning and service to the community in the III Awards for Teaching Innovation Projects in Service-Learning. Among the winners is the CITIC researcher and UDC professor, Adriana Dapena Janeiro, who together with Paula María Castro Castro received the first prize in the category of Attention to Diversity for their project “Technology and Society”.

The CITIC of the University of A Coruña participates in a European project of digital transformation with technologies for waste classification

The Centre for Research in Information and Communication Technologies (CITIC) of the University of A Coruña will participate in a European project, led by the Galician Society of the Environment S.A. (SOGAMA), and in which LIPOR – Associação de Municípios para a Gestão Sustentável de Residuos del Grande Porto also participates together with the University of Orilla Interior (UBI) in terms of digital transformation with smart technologies for the sorting of household packaging waste.

In this interview, the UDC CITIC researcher, Ricardo Cao, reviews his 35-year career in the service of science. Mathematics and statistics have brought him great achievements in his career, with more than 200 research papers and the opportunity to have collaborated with numerous researchers from around the world. Of these, the most recent COVIDBENS stands out, with which it has fulfilled the double objective of public service at a critical social moment, on the one hand; and the scientific challenge, on the other, of having generated a highly efficient statistical model applicable to other health problems such as influenza.
