The Advanced Services Center (CSA) of the ICT City will host the Coruña Innovate Summit on October 24 and 25, bringing together startups, companies, and professionals working with the most innovative technologies that will shape the future of their sectors. On Friday, Amparo Alonso Betanzos, a researcher at CITIC and a professor at UDC, will deliver a lecture on budgeting in AI.
The researcher from Carballo was awarded for her “excellent work in multiple areas of machine learning,” particularly highlighting her study on AI and green algorithms.
This year, the event experienced significant growth, with a total of 74 papers submitted compared to 50 in the previous edition, representing a 48% increase from last year.
Throughout these two days, research will be presented on topics such as artificial intelligence, language models, virtual reality, and cybersecurity, among others.
CITIC, the Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies at the Universidade da Coruña (UDC), in collaboration with the Office for Research Staff Recruitment (OCPI) of UDC and the CITIC Foundation, will hold an informative and working session on October 24, 2024, focusing on opportunities for participation in the 2025 calls of Horizon Europe and synergistic programs.
CITIC of the University da Coruña hosted this Monday October 14 the talk-debate entitled ‘AI, ethics and labour market’, which brought together leading experts in technology and business. The event featured CITIC researcher Amparo Alonso, who presented an analysis of how AI is reshaping the employment landscape, with an emphasis on the new skills that will be essential in the near future.
The Center for Research in Information and Communication Technologies of UDC participated this past Saturday with its Talentos Inclusivos project in the open technologies fair OSHWDem 2024, held at the Domus Museum in A Coruña. The event, organized by Bricolabs, brought together enthusiasts of electronics, robotics, 3D printing, and the maker culture, highlighting technological accessibility as one of its main proposals.
CITIC hosted the presentation of the Atendis-VR project this Friday, driven by the UDC’s own ICT Center and the ADCOR Foundation—dedicated to the care of people with disabilities—with the support of the Galician Innovation Agency.
CITIC has hosted numerous student visits this October. Recently, the center received students from IES Eusebio da Guarda and IES María Casares. In total, more than 50 students participated along with their teachers.
CITIC researchers Verónica Bolón and María Baamonde, along with University of A Coruña professor Fernando De Llano, are launching a new edition of the Inspira STEAM 2024-2025 project in A Coruña.
