Minia Manteiga and Carlos Dafonte, the CITIC researchers involved in Gaia, the ESA mission that is producing the most detailed map of the Milky Way, have been instrumental in validating the data and in the scientific papers that will be published after the archive is opened.
Last Friday September 29th took place the G-NIGHT, the Galician Night of Researchers, a scientific dissemination event that is held simultaneously throughout Europe.
The Royal Galician Academy of Sciences awards the Enrique Vidal Abascal medal to CITIC researcher Ricardo Cao, in recognition of his work in the Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science section. The medal ceremony will take place on Wednesday October at the Pazo de Fonseca, in Santiago.
The conference will be held on October 10 at CITIC and will feature guest lectures by Fabio Manca, Big Data Coordinator, Directorate for Employment and Social Affairs of the OECD and Zeltia Lado Lago, Director General of Employment Training and Guidance of the Xunta de Galicia.
