The CITIC of the UDC analyzes emerging technologies in training and medical practice in the conference “Cara un novo CHUAC 4.0” 15/11/2023
The CITIC research group Laboratorio Interdisciplinar de Aplicaciones de la Inteligencia Artificial (LIA2) has received the award in the category of Research Groups in the VII Edition of the SpinOff PuntoGal awards.
The CITIC researcher at the University of A Coruña, Amparo Alonso, has just been appointed Corresponding Academician in the Mathematics section of the prestigious and centenary Royal Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences of Spain (RAC).
Paul Van Branteghem, expert in Artificial Intelligence, will be the speaker at the second talk of the HumanIA cycle organized by the Social Council of the University of A Coruña and the Faculty of Humanities, in collaboration with CITIC. This second event will be held in the Cloud Room of the center next Thursday, November 9 at 17:30.
CITIC held a day of presentation of the prototypes for the CITIC Demonstrator in which 9 researchers from the center showed the prototypes in operation in order to install them in the Demonstrator Room.
From October 26 to 28, the XVI Galician Congress of Statistics and Operations Research (SGAPEIO), of which CITIC is a sponsor, was held at the School of Civil Engineering of the UDC.
Patricia Concheiro, CITIC researcher and graduate in Occupational Therapy from the Universidade da Coruña, has been awarded one of the San Rafael – UDC Foundation Grants in its postdoctoral modality in the ceremony held last Monday, October 23rd at the San Rafael Hospital.
The Cycle of Conferences on Artificial Intelligence, entitled “Electricity in the 21st century”, organized by the Royal Galician Academy of Sciences (RAGC) in collaboration with the Diputación da Coruña, comes to an end today, with the conference given by the CITIC researcher Verónica Bolón, head of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence area of the Universidade da Coruña.
The researcher of the Artificial Intelligence area of CITIC Amparo Alonso will participate as a speaker at the Corunna Innovate Summit, which will take place at the Advanced Services Center (CSA) of the Cidade das TIC on October 26th and 27th.
Xunta has approved the agreement with the UDC, which exceeds 560,000 euros, to co-finance the hiring of 8 people in predoctoral stage in the framework of the European program COFUND, which is developed in the CITIC.
CITIC researcher Ricardo Cao participated in the Session on Statistical Innovation in the European Statistical System, held in Madrid on Monday 23 October. This is the first of two events organized by the National Statistics Institute (INE) to coincide with the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The session was inaugurated by Elena Manzanera, the president of INE.
On Friday, October 20 took place the inauguration of the ICT City with the opening of the building of the Advanced Services Center (CSA). This project, together with the election of Coruña as the headquarters of the State Agency for the Supervision of Artificial Intelligence (AESIA) will make the city a reference in the technological field, serving as a meeting point between companies and the University of A Coruña (UDC).
